Awareness API, the New Key to Android Development

Google has recently released the Awareness API. This software is basically a suite which corresponds to the signals. These signals pertain to offering users the opportunity to be a part of the Play Services 9.2.0, which are downloaded on Android devices. Generally a library combines at least 7 various kinds of feeds, handling memory usage and battery drain. It offers the following:

  • Weather
  • Time
  • Location
  • Nearby Beacon

The awareness API has arrived with two distinct versions, while one is callback based and the other is polling based. The first one is called the Fence API and the second, Snapshot API. The first Awareness API would notify developers on conditions which are specifically met with. On the other hand the second version would let the developer enquire for data from any unified interface.

To get started with the APIs it is important to add the Awareness software to Google API client. Soon after the developer would require creating conditions which needed to be notified. Developers can pick from a wide range of choices. These choices mostly include:

  • Detected Activity by the User
  • Location of the User
  • Status of Headphone Connectivity

The Fences API doesn't really have anything new to offer. However these are conditions which can be implemented by making use of Boolean operators.

Secondly it is important for the developer to consider informing the API but for that they require creating the FenceUpdaterequest which can be accomplished by seeking advantage of the model. Since this is a dynamic approach it requires some experts from the android app development company in Kolkata to understand the meaning of the entire thing.
